About the position

The Aquatics Operations Manager at British Swim School is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the aquatics program, ensuring adherence to brand and safety standards, and managing customer service interactions. This role involves instructor management, training, and teaching swimming lessons as needed, while also fostering relationships with students' families and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, onboard, train, and manage employees to maintain smooth execution of daily aquatics and service operations.
• Create employee schedules and pool lesson schedules.
• Address and document employee, customer, and pool incidents that occur.
• Teach and lead swimming lessons as needed.
• Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons.
• Establish and maintain relationships with students' parents and/or guardians.
• Teach British Swim School lessons with encouragement and positive reinforcement when instructors are not available.
• Teach and train new instructors on the British Swim School aquatics program.
• Maintain certifications throughout employment.
• Work evening and weekend hours as determined by business needs.

Requirements

• 1+ years of customer service and/or management experience.
• Experience in swimming and fitness teaching/management is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Familiarity with aquatic programming and swim lesson curriculum.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• A specialist aquatics qualification is desirable, but not required.
• Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid Certifications may be obtained during training.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospitality or aquatic management role is preferred.
