About the position
The AR Collections Associate at Alterman Management Group, Inc. is responsible for managing the accounts receivable function, focusing on customer interaction, recordkeeping, and overall receivables management. This role involves communicating with customers regarding invoice submissions, resolving collection issues, and maintaining accurate records of collection efforts. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project accountants and management to optimize accounts receivable processes.
Responsibilities
- Makes initial contact with customers regarding invoice submission.
- Communicates and works with project accountants for billing revisions or issues.
- Resolves customer complaints regarding collection issues.
- Communicates with customers 5 days prior to the due date for payment acknowledgment.
- Collects outstanding payments from customers via phone, email, and/or letters.
- Responds to customer inquiries and billing inquiries by Divisional Directors and Project Managers (PMs).
- Completes credit references when requested.
- Maintains a complete and accurate record of all collection efforts.
- Assists with Account Receivable (AR) aging reports for Divisional Directors and PMs.
- Complies with control processes and ensures completion of audit requests for Accounts Receivables.
- Manages and oversees the receivables processes.
- Performs invoice follow-ups and collections.
- Optimizes the days outstanding and aging accounts receivables.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One to three years related experience and/or training preferred.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software.
- Prior experience with accounting software is preferred.
