About the position

The AR Credit & Collections Specialist at Signode is responsible for the accurate and timely application of customer payments, focusing on the accounts receivable cycle. This role involves daily communication with customers and sales representatives to manage collections, reconcile accounts, and ensure the integrity of the accounts receivable process. The specialist will handle a portfolio of accounts, including high-profile and national accounts, and will be tasked with identifying credit risks and managing credit limits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily collection calls to customers and sales representatives.
• Communicate with internal and external customers regarding collections.
• Reconcile activity for high-profile accounts, including National Accounts.
• Notify sales personnel of potential problem accounts and reconciliation issues.
• Run aging reports and work reports to resolution for assigned territory.
• Provide weekly/monthly updates to management on account status.
• Analyze and process offsets and write-off requests for accounts.
• Identify and manage credit risk and assign credit limits.
• Evaluate credit information to assign appropriate credit limits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in finance/accounting preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years commercial credit and/or collections experience with large volume accounts.
• Intermediate MS Excel skills (Basic Functions, Formatting, Print set-up).
• Experience with ERP software (Dynamics AX or Great Plains preferred).
• Proven experience interpreting D&B reports and analyzing financial statements.
