About the position

The AR/Third Party Coordinator at Minneapolis Community and Technical College is responsible for managing accounts receivable processes, including billing, payment plans, and collections. This role also involves student payroll processing and providing customer service to students and various stakeholders. The position requires proficiency in multiple databases to ensure timely processing and reporting, as well as process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounts receivable calendar and department work plan related to third-party billing and collection.
  • Monitor the Student Billing email account to ensure timely processing and responses.
  • Coordinate and monitor third-party authorizations from various entities.
  • Coordinate student payment plan data workflow and processing (Nelnet).
  • Troubleshoot posting and collection filing discrepancies and communicate to applicable parties to resolve them.
  • Work closely with purchasing and other Minneapolis College departments to process billing for income contracts and services provided by Minneapolis College.
  • Collaborate with Business Services personnel in monitoring the accounts receivable email account.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and computerized billing systems sufficient to enter and access information and identify and correct errors.
  • Sufficient accounting skills to reconcile differences between invoices, receipts, and purchase orders, and assess needs based on data and events affecting the account.
  • Sufficient math skills to calculate, review and reconcile financial data and balance accounts.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to manage and address external and internal customers, clients and co-workers concerns tactfully and thoroughly.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency and incorporates culturally responsive practices.
