About the position

The Arabic Linguist position at Leidos involves providing expert linguistic support in various capacities, including translation, interpretation, and transcription. The role is critical in supporting national security efforts by ensuring accurate communication and documentation in Arabic and English. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cultural nuances and regional dialects, along with excellent communication skills to deliver informative briefings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Accurately translate reports and texts in electronic and hard-copy formats, capturing intended implications and nuances.
• Interpret spoken language accurately, primarily through consecutive interpretation, with occasional simultaneous interpretation.
• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe them with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Prepare reports with excellent English-language written communication skills.

Requirements

• 6 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal military training.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong English-language verbal communication skills.
