About the position

Araiys Design is a well-established, award-winning landscape architecture firm located on the east end of Long Island. With over 30 years of experience, we are dedicated to designing spaces that reflect our clients' visions while being mindful of the local ecology. We are currently looking for talented and highly motivated entry-level candidates to join our growing design team. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to a variety of projects. As an entry-level Landscape Architect, you will be involved in various aspects of landscape architecture, including site development, conceptual design, project management, construction documentation, and planting plans. Strong technical, graphic, and design abilities are essential, as well as the capacity to collaborate effectively on multi-disciplinary projects. Experience in hand and computer graphics will be beneficial, and familiarity with residential, commercial, recreational, and municipal design is preferred. Our office is situated in the historic Village of Southampton, known for its natural beauty, outdoor-oriented culture, and vibrant art scene. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design team on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Assist in site development and conceptual design.
  • Prepare construction documentation and planting plans.
  • Create hand and computer graphics for project presentations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with residential, commercial, recreational, and municipal design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple fast-tracked projects with pressing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local plant material.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lumion, Sketch-up, or any other 3D program.
  • Registered or pursuing licensure as a Landscape Architect in New York State.
