About the position

The Arborist Climber at ArborScape Inc. is responsible for leading a professional Tree Work Crew in various tree-related tasks. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the application of specialized skills in arboriculture. The Climber will perform complex tree work, supervise crew members, and ensure adherence to safety guidelines while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to ANSI & ArborScape Safety guidelines at all times.
• Take direction and work as a team member, using strong communication skills.
• Perform varied and complex activities related to forestry and arboriculture, including tree diagnosis, climbing, pruning, removal, stump grinding, and planting.
• Install proper hardware such as cabling, bracing, tying, bolting, staking, and guying trees and branches.
• Supervise others engaged in tree trimming work and train crew members.
• Collect debris from tree trimming and removal operations, maintaining a cleared and safe work zone.
• Trim, limb up, prune, and shape trees and shrubs following arboriculture practices.
• Participate in gear, tool, and equipment maintenance at the shop and in the field.

Requirements

• Experience in tree work and arboriculture practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines in tree work.
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to climbing and tree maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in arboriculture or related field.
• Experience with tree diagnosis and complex tree work.
• Familiarity with tree care equipment and maintenance.
