About the position

ArborActive is seeking a knowledgeable and versatile Arborist who will engage in both field production and business development activities. This role requires balancing hands-on arboricultural work with client interaction and sales, contributing to the growth of ArborActive's reputation and customer base while delivering high-quality plant care services. Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of arboricultural tasks, including pruning, tree removal, planting, fertilization, and other plant health care services.
• Assess tree health and make recommendations for treatments such as pest control, disease management, and soil improvement.
• Operate machinery such as chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other equipment as needed.
• Conduct tree climbing or aerial lift work for pruning and tree maintenance (if qualified).
• Work with plant health care and turf care as needed, providing recommendations for comprehensive landscape health.
• Engage with prospective and existing clients to understand their needs, conduct site assessments, and develop tailored service proposals.
• Educate clients on the benefits of ArborActive's plant care offerings, and develop relationships to drive business growth.
• Support marketing and outreach initiatives, including participation in community events or presentations on tree care best practices.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement sales strategies that align with ArborActive's growth objectives.

Requirements

• ISA Certified Arborist, CT or MA Licensed Arborist or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience or formal education in arboriculture.
• Willingness to engage in both field and sales work, balancing physical tasks with client-facing responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in climbing, aerial lift operations, plant health care, and/or turf care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
