About The Position
The City of Littleton is seeking an Arborist I to join our forestry initiatives, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the health of city-owned trees. This position involves performing skilled tree work primarily using rope and saddle techniques under the guidance of the City Forester. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of tree biology and a passion for tree equity, contributing to the growth and development of the city's forestry program. A safety-first mentality is essential, as is adherence to the ISA's Best Management practices for tree care. If you are enthusiastic about trees and enjoy discussing tree care, this position is tailored for you. As an Arborist I, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including trimming and removing trees, conducting tree risk assessments, and maintaining accurate tree inventory data. You will assist in planning Arbor Day celebrations and perform essential tree maintenance tasks such as pruning, planting, and watering. Climbing trees to perform maintenance using industry-accepted techniques is a key aspect of this role. You will also assist the forestry staff with safety training and the establishment of safe work zones, ensuring compliance with ANSI standards and best practices in arboriculture. This full-time position operates on a 9/80 work week schedule, requiring availability for nights and weekends as needed for snow removal and other special events.
