As an Electrical Engineering co-op at GE Healthcare, you will engage in a variety of assignments that involve hands-on involvement in Electrical Engineering. You will be assigned project-oriented tasks with the support of a manager and mentor. This position primarily focuses on Anesthesia and Respiratory Care (ARC) products, where you will evaluate new technology, execute performance tests, build prototypes, and document feasibility results. Your work will involve a combination of structured and creative approaches to develop subsystems of anesthesia and respiratory care systems, aiming to provide evidence of development feasibility.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new technology related to Electrical Engineering.
  • Execute performance tests on various systems and prototypes.
  • Build prototypes for anesthesia and respiratory care systems.
  • Document feasibility results of engineering projects.
  • Work collaboratively with a manager and mentor on project-oriented assignments.

Requirements

  • 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Biomedical-Electrical and Electrical Engineering areas.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems clearly.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Willingness to relocate to Madison, WI for the duration of the co-op.

  • Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing.
