About the position

The Arch Operations Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of key venues, including Houston Hall and the Arts, Culture, and Research House (ARCH). This role involves supervising and training building ambassadors, managing space requests, ensuring facility maintenance, and collaborating with various teams to enhance student engagement and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead advisor on scheduling ARCH space and problem-solving space-related issues.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate building ambassadors providing guest services and operational support.
  • Conduct regular building walkthroughs to monitor conditions and support staff.
  • Monitor activities in managed spaces during flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Collaborate with security services to ensure safety and emergency preparedness protocols.
  • Plan and evaluate annual student staff training in collaboration with the Associate Director of Student Engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience supervising/leading college students is required.
  • Experience managing full-time/part-time staff is preferred.
  • Knowledge of facility and event equipment and logistics, as well as audio-visual equipment is preferred.
