About the position

The Architecture & Design Specification Representative is responsible for gathering and securing specifications from architects and designers to enhance market awareness of the Richelieu brand and drive sales. This role involves coordinating various project aspects, building relationships with clients, and providing exceptional customer service while working in the field.

Responsibilities

• Continuously develop and nurture strong relationships with architects and designers.
• Schedule and hold face-to-face as well as virtual meetings with new and existing clients.
• Gather and secure specifications in product categories including decorative hardware, lighting, and premium panels.
• Identify and analyze past specification patterns of current accounts.
• Provide educational training on products and industry developments to the A&D community.
• Provide a state-of-the-art customer service experience.
• Stay up to date with Richelieu's product offerings and market conditions.
• Utilize available sales support applications and systems, especially CRM.
• Regular automobile travel to meet clients in the field, making in-person visits three to four days per week.
• Frequent lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Successful experience as a Specification Representative or Designer (recent graduates with a design degree may be considered).
• Ability to schedule and manage your own time effectively.
• Proactive, high energy, coachable, and strong work ethic.
• Developed design, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• University degree in Design is an asset.
