About the position

As a member of Enterprise Technology Services, you will join a strategic and collaborative Architecture team that is dedicated to transforming our business and technology capabilities. This role is pivotal in paving the way for best-in-class solutions within the Business Insurance architecture organization. You will collaborate with Engineers, Technology and Business leaders, applying your knowledge of modern technology to influence and innovate solutions that significantly impact the business. Your responsibilities will include working closely with Enterprise Architects, Business Architects, and line of business engineers to help partners and customers learn and utilize AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR, DataBricks, and Snowflake. In this role, you will be instrumental in building solutions by delivering on technical engagements with partners and customers. You will partner with cloud and security architects, data and software engineers to implement cutting-edge yet pragmatic solutions that enable business outcomes. Your hands-on experience will be crucial in guiding the program team to deliver by leveraging cloud-native and enterprise-approved cloud tools and technologies. You will also assist in engagements to migrate applications and datasets to the AWS cloud, innovating by working with the customer's business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise for Business Insurance. Your expertise will guide the delivery organization in modeling and standardizing data for analytics, while also helping to establish governance and control processes to ensure successful and healthy Data Platform implementations. You will build implementation patterns using your expertise in AWS cloud-native capabilities, deliver solutions on technical engagements, perform Proof of Concept/s on technologies and services, and share learnings from your past large-scale global data lake/warehousing and analytics projects. Your role will require effective collaboration across organizations, educating stakeholders on the right types of datastores for various use cases, and ensuring data standards and modeling principles are adhered to in the data solutions and platforms. You will manage and monitor the data quality of the content in the data architecture and platforms, balancing tactical versus strategic trade-offs when making decisions or proposing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Business Architects, Line of business engineers and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR, DataBricks and Snowflake.
  • Help build solutions by delivering on technical engagements with partners and customers.
  • Partner with cloud and security architects, data and software engineers to implement cutting-edge but pragmatic solutions that will enable business outcomes.
  • Assist the program team to deliver by leveraging cloud native and enterprise approved cloud tools and technologies.
  • Engage in migrating applications and datasets to AWS cloud.
  • Innovate by working with the customer's business and technology stakeholders.
  • Create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise for Business Insurance.
  • Guide through hands-on experience leading large-scale global data lake/warehousing and analytics projects.
  • Guide delivery organization for modeling and standardizing the data for analytics.
  • Establish governance and control processes to ensure successful and healthy Data Platform implementations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent with 5+ years of technology Engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR and Snowflake, NoSQL, SQL databases, Object File stores, etc.
  • Organizational experience in an agile operating model.
  • Established work in proof of concepts and technology.
  • Strong proven Software Engineering experience.
  • Supports technology target state, roadmaps that align to Short- and Long-term business goals.
  • Insurance technology experience desired.
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Must be passionate about technology transformations.
  • Hands-on experience in the last 3 years.
  • Executed technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API Strategy.
  • Current experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on Cloud.
  • Good understanding of security.
  • Experienced with large scale technology platforms.
  • Exposure and understanding of advanced analytics techniques using ML and AI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques using machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Familiarity with insurance technology and its applications.
