About the position

The Architect - Data Center Facilities Design position involves leading the design and documentation of data center projects, ensuring quality and adherence to project schedules. The role requires collaboration with various project team members and focuses on creating efficient, reliable, and sustainable data center designs for enterprise customers and hyperscale companies. This hybrid role offers opportunities for career growth and exposure to innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input on design planning and development of construction drawings for data center facilities.
  • Progress technical design drawing packages.
  • Focus on the architectural layout of the building and infrastructure, including power, cooling, ventilation, redundancy, and security.
  • Advance drawings based on reference documents and detailed design criteria.
  • Ensure adherence to practice standards in designs.
  • Provide construction administration services as needed.
  • Track RFI and submittal responses across multiple disciplines.
  • Review submittals for conformance with drawings and specifications.
  • Produce meeting minutes during project meetings.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines involved in the project.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, and Principals in developing project documents.
  • Work in a team environment with internal and external customers and partners.
  • Meet aggressive deadlines when required.

Requirements

  • Registered Architect (RA) or on the path to becoming one.
  • Two to five or more years of experience as a Project Architect.
  • Experience with critical facilities or data center projects is a huge plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Design.
  • Proficient in the use of REVIT; advanced Revit skills are a huge plus.
  • Experience with 3D/BIM modeling and CAD software is a plus.
  • High level of technical proficiency in the production of drawings.
  • Ability to visit client facilities throughout the DFW area.
  • Occasional travel to support project tasks.

  • Active involvement in the AIA is a plus.
