About the position

As an Architect Professional in our Data Centers group, you will play a crucial role in contributing to projects that form the backbone of our clients' successful data center facilities engineering, design, and construction. This position offers the opportunity to engage in the engineering and design of data centers and other mission-critical facilities, allowing you to work on some of the world's most advanced industrial and commercial projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the schedule and technical quality of complex engineering tasks while becoming familiar with the client's expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. In this role, you will collaborate within a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to effectively deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products. You will be expected to perform all aspects of architecture and design, applying advanced engineering techniques and analysis independently within your discipline. Your designs will require innovation and ingenuity, and you will be expected to work with minimal supervision, reviewing the work of your team for adequacy upon completion and providing technical guidance to drafters, designers, and engineers. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with a team of designers and engineers as an Architect/Architectural Designer, engaging with clients and subcontractors to design cutting-edge data center facilities. You will plan and conduct work that requires judgment and evaluation, selecting and adapting architectural techniques and criteria. Attention to detail and quality control will be paramount, as you will also perform calculation checks on others' work. Additionally, you will collaborate with other designers in developing layouts, technical designs, construction drawings, specifications, and model creation. Active participation in project meetings will be essential, as you help the team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines. You will champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews, support field construction efforts by reviewing submittals, responding to client and contractor inquiries, and conducting field walks. Your role will also involve performing technical and business presentations with clients and employees, conducting quality reviews on designs produced by others, and participating in the development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of designers and engineers as Architect/Architectural Designer to engage with clients and subcontractors.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment and evaluation, selection, and adaptation of architectural techniques and criteria.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
  • Perform calculation checking of others' work.
  • Collaborate with other designers in the development of layout, technical design, construction drawings, specification, and model creation.
  • Attend project meetings and actively help the team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines.
  • Participate in and champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews.
  • Support field construction efforts, including reviewing submittals and responding to questions from clients and contractors.
  • Perform technical and business presentations with clients and employees.
  • Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
  • Participate in developing proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited Architectural program.
  • Professional Architectural license and ability to be licensed in multiple States.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional Architectural Design experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of building codes and applicability to industrial facilities.
  • Understanding of scopes of work, developing budgets, and reviewing schedules.
  • Ability to work well across multiple teams and lead small architectural teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience with designing data centers, industrial manufacturing facilities, etc.
  • Licensed Architect.
