About the position

As an Architect Professional in our Data Centers group, you will play a crucial role in the engineering, design, and construction of data center facilities that are vital to our clients' success. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that involve the engineering and design of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and meet the technical quality standards expected by our clients. Your familiarity with client expectations, project scope, budget, and schedule will be essential as you navigate through various engineering tasks. In this role, you will collaborate within a multi-discipline team to deliver comprehensive design solutions. Your responsibilities will include the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products. You will independently apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis, demonstrating innovation and ingenuity in your designs. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and quality control, as you will be reviewing the work of your team members and providing technical guidance to drafters, designers, and engineers. You will engage with clients and subcontractors, contributing to the design of some of the world's most advanced data center facilities. Your work will involve planning and conducting tasks that require sound judgment and the adaptation of architectural techniques and criteria. You will also participate in project meetings, helping to resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines. Supporting field construction efforts will be part of your responsibilities, which includes reviewing submittals, responding to inquiries from clients and contractors, and conducting field walks. Additionally, you will perform technical and business presentations and participate in developing proposals, budgets, and schedules for specific projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of designers and engineers as Architect/Architectural Designer to engage with clients and subcontractors.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment and evaluation, selection, and adaptation of architectural techniques and criteria.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
  • Perform calculation checking of others' work.
  • Collaborate with other designers in the development of layout, technical design, construction drawings, specifications, and model creation.
  • Attend project meetings and actively help the team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines.
  • Participate in and champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews.
  • Support field construction efforts, including reviewing submittals and responding to questions from clients and contractors.
  • Perform technical and business presentations with clients and employees.
  • Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
  • Participate in developing proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited Architectural program.
  • Professional Architectural license and ability to be licensed in multiple States.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional Architectural Design experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of building codes and applicability to industrial facilities.
  • Understanding of scopes of work, developing budgets, and reviewing schedules.
  • Ability to work well across multiple teams and lead small architectural teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience with designing data centers and industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Licensed Architect.
