About the position

As an Architect Professional in our Data Centers group, you will play a crucial role in the engineering, design, and construction of data center facilities that are vital to our clients' success. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that include the engineering and design of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and meet the technical quality standards expected by our clients. Your familiarity with client expectations, project scope, budget, and schedule will be essential as you navigate through various engineering tasks. In this role, you will collaborate within a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products. You will be expected to perform all aspects of architecture and design, applying advanced engineering techniques and analysis independently. Your designs will require innovation and ingenuity, and you will work with minimal supervision while reviewing the work of your team to ensure adequacy upon completion. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance to drafters, designers, and engineers. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with a team of designers and engineers to engage with clients and subcontractors, ultimately delivering construction documents for some of the world's most advanced data center facilities. You will plan and conduct work that requires judgment and evaluation, selecting and adapting architectural techniques and criteria as necessary. Attention to detail and quality control will be paramount in your work, as you will also be responsible for checking calculations performed by others. Furthermore, you will participate in project meetings, actively helping the team to resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines. Your role will also involve supporting field construction efforts, which includes reviewing submittals, responding to inquiries from clients and contractors, and conducting field walks. You will be tasked with performing technical and business presentations for clients and employees, as well as conducting quality reviews on designs created by others. Additionally, you will participate in developing proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned with client expectations and project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of designers and engineers as Architect/Architectural Designer to engage with clients and subcontractors.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment and evaluation, selection, and adaptation of architectural techniques and criteria.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
  • Perform calculation checking of others' work.
  • Collaborate with other designers in the development of layout, technical design, construction drawings, specification, and model creation.
  • Attend project meetings and take an active role in helping the team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines.
  • Participate in and champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews.
  • Support field construction efforts, including reviewing submittals, responding to questions from clients and contractors, and performing field walks.
  • Perform technical and business presentations with clients and employees.
  • Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
  • Participate in developing proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited Architectural program.
  • Professional Architectural license and ability to be licensed in multiple States.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional Architectural Design experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of building codes and applicability to industrial facilities.
  • Understanding of scopes of work, developing budgets, and reviewing schedules.
  • Ability to work well across multiple teams and lead small architectural teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience with designing data centers, industrial manufacturing facilities, etc.
  • Licensed Architect.
