About the position

As an Architect for Policy Administration Software, you will lead the technology target state for the Business Insurance Unit at Travelers, a global Dow 30 company. This role involves collaborating with senior technology leaders to transform business and technology capabilities, focusing on modern solutions that enhance user experiences and operational efficiency. You will work closely with a team of Enterprise Architects to evolve product sophistication and drive modernization efforts, including the adoption of Guidewire PolicyCenter.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architecture support and technical guidance for the Product & Platform Modernization effort in Business Insurance.
  • Collaborate with other architects on policy modernization efforts, including Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Participate in cross-LOB forums for Guidewire and Policy Modernization, documenting and socializing architecture decisions.
  • Lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Engage in hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions.
  • Partner with Software Engineering to execute proof of technologies and provide architecture direction.
  • Drive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze industry and technology trends to assess their impact on the enterprise.
  • Define target state technology architecture and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with IT initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of technology engineering experience.
  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform and PolicyCenter or other Policy Administration systems.
  • Strong proven software engineering experience.
  • Experience in executing technology modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud native and API strategy.
  • Current experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on Cloud.

  • Insurance technology experience.
  • Experience modernizing data technology and information architecture on cloud.
  • Exposure to advanced analytics techniques using ML and AI.
