About the position

The Architectural CAD Drafter/Designer will be responsible for project production using AutoCAD and Revit, with a strong emphasis on residential architecture. This role requires a solid understanding of building codes in New Jersey and New York, as well as the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders including building inspectors and contractors. The position involves preparing design development and construction drawing sets, coordinating with multiple teams, and maintaining project documentation and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Project production using ACAD/Revit.
• Strong knowledge of building codes in NJ and NY, and confident in liaising with building inspectors, planning departments, consultants, and contractors.
• Prepare and issue Design Development and Construction Drawing Sets, documenting design intent for construction.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, engineering, structural, MEP, and design teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Assist with construction administration, RFI responses, and submittal reviews.
• Establish and meticulously maintain project schedules, finish and material schedules, and other project documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience working for a high-end residential architecture design firm.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Rhino, Sketchup & other 3D software is a plus.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage all aspects of a project.
• Strong desire to contribute and collaborate with the design team.
• Associate/bachelor's degree in architecture.

• Experience in Sketchup and other 3D software.
