About the position

As an Architectural Designer at Jacobs in Columbus, Ohio, you will be part of the Advanced Facilities - Electronics group, focusing on designing state-of-the-art microelectronics facilities, data centers, and advanced industrial and commercial facilities. This role involves creating models and sketches using Revit and related BIM software, collaborating with architects and engineering teams, and mentoring junior team members. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of design deliverables while promoting innovative solutions in architectural design.

Responsibilities

  • Creating conceptual models based on verbal direction or rough sketches from architects or other designers.
  • Modeling, preparing drawings and sketches using Revit and applicable software, ensuring suitable design criteria.
  • Managing and incorporating redlines from others.
  • Maintaining reliable work practices to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Self-checking work and coordinating with related disciplines to resolve design issues.
  • Proactively advancing workflows, systems, and tools, including design automation skills.
  • Ensuring conformance with established architecture standards, project standards, and project delivery processes.
  • Providing quality reviews of models and documents prepared by others to assure design and project standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited Architectural program.
  • 4-6 years architectural design experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit 3D modeling.
  • Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Suite, InDesign, and Navisworks.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Columbus, OH.

  • Experience with site master planning and programming.

  • Ability to travel.
