About the position

Tom Hoch Design (THD) is seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join their dynamic design team. This role involves creating technical drawings for commercial hospitality buildings, luxury homes, and other structures from conceptual sketches. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of professional experience, strong technical skills, and a passion for great design, working on multiple scales of projects within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate under the Lead Designer and work independently on projects.
• Create furniture layouts and conduct space planning.
• Select finishes and materials for design projects.
• Develop conceptual design drawings and presentations.
• Produce 3D sketches and renderings.
• Prepare construction drawings and coordinate with project teams.
• Manage FF&E schedules and documentation (tear sheets, fabric selections, etc.).
• Generate and issue project meeting notes and minutes.
• Organize project files, binders, and maintain records.
• Coordinate with design staff for seamless project execution.
• Participate in occasional site visits, overnight travel, and overtime as needed.
• Update weekly project schedules and projections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (preferred).
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop.
• Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work within time constraints.
• Willingness to travel and work occasional overtime to fulfill project requirements.
