About the position

The Architectural Designer/Drafter position at Ali-General Contractor US involves creating architectural drawings and schematics primarily using AutoCAD. The role requires a strong understanding of municipal building codes and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and city authorities. The ideal candidate will be a Chinese speaker with a background in architecture or a related design field, capable of managing project deadlines and collaborating with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Drafting plans and preparing architectural drawings.
• Consulting with city/county authorities and related organizations to address client inquiries.
• Designing and developing schemes in collaboration with customers and senior management.
• Managing time and workload to meet project deadlines with guidance from project leaders.
• Liaising with city/county authorities for planning submissions and permit processes.
• Demonstrating an understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, and construction techniques.
• Supporting the design department and construction site as needed.
• Assisting the marketing department with project-related tasks.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A U.S. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related Design field is required.
• At least 2 years of U.S. architectural drafter-related work experience is required.
• General knowledge of U.S. architectural practice, including site planning and civil codes, is required.
• Experience in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Max, Sketch-up, and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Experience in design development, architectural design, documentation, and detailing on various projects is required.
• Excellent communication, strong problem-solving, and organizational skills are preferred.
• Must have a California Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to communicate in Chinese is preferred.
