About the position

The Architectural Designer/Drafter at Amigo Construction is responsible for creating detailed architectural drawings and coordinating project activities related to exterior building envelopes. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and involves liaising with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure successful project execution across multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D shop drawings using AutoCAD for unitized window wall and provide shop drawing assistance as necessary.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, design drawings, and sketches.
• Prepare engineering drawings for manufacturing, varying per job requirements.
• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of manufacturing, installation, and glazing processes.
• Coordinate all aspects of an exterior building envelope on multiple job sites in varying stages of development.
• Liaise with customers, architects, and general contractors to ensure project alignment.
• Coordinate and schedule approval drawings, production drawings, shipment, and installation of components.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or Construction Technology.
• High proficiency with AutoCAD (5 years required).
• Experience in project coordination and materials management (3 years preferred).
• Prior experience detailing panel cladding and/or glazing systems is preferred but not required.
