About the position

The Architectural Designer at Sun Design Remodeling is responsible for creating innovative residential design solutions while collaborating with a team. This role involves managing projects from initial site analysis through to construction, ensuring that each design meets client needs and adheres to local building codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential design and wood frame construction, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site analysis and due diligence for residential projects.
• Develop schematic designs and participate in design charrettes.
• Collaborate with engineers and trade partners during the design development phase.
• Prepare construction drawings and documentation.
• Navigate local jurisdictions for permitting processes.
• Manage design projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

• A degree in Architecture, Residential Design, Architectural Drafting, or a similar field.
• 5-8 years of experience in residential design and wood frame construction.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of residential design and space planning.
• Understanding of wood frame construction materials and methods.
• Thorough knowledge of building codes and local zoning requirements.
• Superior technical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced environment.
