About the position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Architectural Designer I to join our Hingham, MA office. This entry-level position involves creating designs for various aspects of assigned projects, conducting zoning research, and developing site plans while adhering to current codes and ADA requirements. The role also includes producing construction documents, conducting job site visits, and ensuring quality control standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Creates designs for aspects of assigned projects.
  • Undertakes zoning research, analysis, and applies constructs to develop site plan information.
  • Familiarity with current codes and ADA requirements and applying these to designs.
  • Undertakes surveys and the creation of existing conditions drawings.
  • Develops schematic and design development sketches appropriate to programmatic requirements, develops renderings and concept boards for client presentation within firm templates.
  • Product research & selection of appropriate products for use on projects.
  • Production of construction documents under the direction of Project Managers or senior team management, coordinate with consulting engineers, product representatives and other sources to coordinate materials, details, and project intent.
  • Job site visits for verification and evaluation of completed construction.
  • Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline and checks own work product for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews & processes shop drawings and submittals for design intent.
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Managers or senior team management.

Requirements

  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years' experience in architectural design for small projects or selected segments of larger projects.
  • 3-5 years' experience expected to be fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture for projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Non-licensed architectural staff.
  • Highly proficient in REVIT, AutoCad Architecture version 2022, with the ability to annotate plans and details.
  • Working knowledge of Word & Excel, and 3D Rendering Software.
  • Proficient in the firm's 3D Rendering Software, able to generate renderings and apply materials and finishes.
  • Actively seeking licensure, have NCARB membership, and be working toward completing certification.
  • Actively seeking LEED accreditation and obtain membership/participation in industry-focused events.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
