About the position

As an Architectural Designer II at Ware Malcomb, you will play a crucial role in the development and production of site planning concepts. This position involves conducting zoning code research, coordinating architectural and civil drawings, and designing site plans for various land developments. You will work collaboratively with teams to address environmental challenges and implement innovative design solutions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of site characteristics including existing structures and topography.
  • Create and refine site planning concepts, ensuring they align with project goals and client requirements.
  • Perform detailed research on local zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with architecture and civil engineering teams to develop a cohesive plan.
  • Meet with clients and internal teams to discuss project goals, present site plans, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Design and review site plans for new and existing land developments, considering factors such as site access, existing conditions, regional design standards, and current market standards.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines efficiently.
  • Present design options to clients and develop client relationships.
  • Mentor and train assigned staff.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the field of Commercial Architectural Design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field.
  • Knowledge of computer software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge of building codes.
  • Ability to research current local zoning ordinances and regulations.
  • Ability to read drawings regarding site conditions such as civil drawings, topography, and wetland maps.
  • Knowledge of site planning principles and practices such as vehicle circulation and land drainage.
  • Ability to design and draw site plans.
