About the position

The Architectural Designer II at Populous is responsible for assisting in the conceptualization and development of design ideas for various projects, including civic, sports, and entertainment buildings. This role involves generating diagrams, digital models, and presentation materials, as well as producing design development and construction documents. The position requires collaboration with team members and stakeholders to review and critique design concepts, ensuring effective communication and presentation of ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the conceptualization and development of design ideas.
  • Generate diagrams, digital models, and presentation materials.
  • Provide production work for various project types.
  • Collaboratively review and critique early phase design concepts.
  • Produce design development and construction documents, models, and drawings.
  • Conduct research and development projects as required.
  • Prepare design presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program (required).
  • Master's degree in Architecture (preferred).
  • 3+ years of professional architectural experience.
  • Proficiency in Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic hand drawing and illustration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public agency presentations.
  • Familiarity with construction details and drawings.
