About the position

The Designer position at LEO A DALY involves working as part of a multi-discipline team to perform architectural design across various phases of multiple projects. Designers will focus on specific design and technical documentation tasks, contributing to the overall success of architectural and engineering projects related to new construction, renovation, and tenant improvements. This role emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality design solutions that address the urgent challenges facing the built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform architectural design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Work under the direct supervision of licensed architects.
  • Concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects.
  • Engage in programming and space planning activities.
  • Participate in the design process and prepare design presentations to communicate ideas to clients.
  • Edit specifications and produce deliverable drawing sets including floor plans, roof plans, building and wall sections, details, and schedules.
  • Support architectural and engineering projects related to new construction, renovation, and tenant improvement work.
  • Design and specify project-appropriate architectural requirements.
  • Perform Revit modeling and detailing.
  • Assist in cross-discipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates.
  • Conduct site investigations and observations.
  • Prepare narratives, architectural graphics, design presentations, and specification documents with a focus on quality, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials, etc.
  • Attend client and internal meetings as needed.
  • Assist with construction contract administration and marketing/business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of architectural experience after degree, with a preference for experience in healthcare architecture.
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of other building systems.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.

  • Active leader and member of varied professional organizations.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture (required), and Sketch-Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Adobe Creative Suite (preferred).
