About the position

As a Senior Architectural Designer at Gensler, you will lead design efforts on large, high-end custom projects, ensuring exceptional service and innovative solutions for clients. This role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, and a commitment to quality in design, impacting both the built environment and the community. You will work within a dynamic studio environment that focuses on climatically responsible design across various project types, including commercial and educational facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan complex architectural projects of varying types.
  • Work with the Design Director(s) and lead project team in developing programming, consulting, strategic planning, conceptual designs, space planning, presentations, design development, and production.
  • Provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of projects.
  • Manage client relationships and team communication.
  • Lead and monitor the architectural design team.
  • Resolve complex design and technical issues.
  • Coordinate with the technical team.
  • Build client's trust and loyalty in Gensler and develop additional business opportunities.
  • Participate in business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture with a rigorous design education.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • 10+ years of relevant architecture and design experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale, including core and shell buildings.
  • International design experience is a plus.
  • Creative initiator with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Proficiency in Sketch-up, Rhino, Revit, 3D Studio Max, VRay, Adobe Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding graphic presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents.
  • Experience in construction documentation and/or design detail development.
  • Proven ability to translate design ideas into visuals: diagrams, plans, vignettes, renderings, physical models, simulated walkthroughs.
