About the position

The Architectural Designer Specialized in Historical Preservation at Mason Architects, Inc. is responsible for collaborating with a small production team and various stakeholders to ensure the preservation and compliance of historic properties. This role involves conducting site surveys, preparing construction drawings, and applying relevant standards to maintain the integrity of historic architecture.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate with a small production staff team and coordinate with consultants, clients, construction professionals, and governmental agencies.
• Perform site surveys and prepare analysis of existing conditions.
• Apply the SOI Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and regulatory mandates.
• Identify historic building styles, designs, and materials; demonstrate interest in the technical aspects of historic properties, including conservation of historic materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in architecture and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation.
• At least twelve (12) months of relevant experience practicing architecture.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam and/or Adobe Acrobat, ReCap, and Agisoft.
