About the position

Stantec is seeking an Architectural Designer to join its growing team in Orlando, FL. This role involves collaborating with clients and team members to create innovative, sustainable designs across various sectors, including hospitality and themed entertainment. The designer will assist in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring adherence to building codes and quality standards while contributing to the development of integrated design proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production and design for projects in various sectors including hospitality and themed entertainment.
  • Evaluate and assimilate design changes introduced by the client or project architect.
  • Coordinate architectural design with other design team members and engineering consultants.
  • Provide production for multiple projects with concurrent schedules and manage time effectively to meet deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation of deliverables (reports and drawings) at all project phases.
  • Support good practices and established policies on project delivery, quality control, and safety.
  • Contribute to the team's goal of delivering excellence in design, project delivery, and communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required.
  • Minimum three years of prior professional architecture experience is required.
  • Strong BIM knowledge and Revit proficiency is a must.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, and jurisdictional processes.
  • Proven technical understanding of building science and construction contracts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with clients and design team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of additional modeling, design and hosting software such as BIM360, NavisWorks, Rhino, SketchUp, Twinmotion, Grasshopper is an asset.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and others.
  • Able to work effectively in managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
