About the position

As an Architectural Designer in the Workplace studio at Gensler, you will blend creativity and technical expertise to design functional and aesthetically pleasing commercial office buildings and mixed-use projects. This role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, and a commitment to sustainability, making it an ideal environment for professional growth and impactful design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural deliverables on projects, collaborating with Design Directors and project teams through all phases including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Provide creative direction to design teams.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative solutions.
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
  • Assist in managing client expectations and team communication.
  • Contribute to office activities and learning programs.
  • Promote design resilience as a shared responsibility at Gensler.
  • Cultivate design expertise and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Champion Gensler's diversity and inclusion goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 10-15 years of relevant architecture and design experience, particularly in commercial office buildings and mixed-use projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Parametric Modeling, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max, VRay, and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes.
  • Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in various stages of development.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Licensed / Registered Architect.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification.
