About the position

Globetrotters Engineering Corporation is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our team in Tampa, FL. As a full-service professional organization established in 1974, we have a long-standing commitment to providing sustainable and responsive services to both public and private sectors. The Architectural Designer will play a crucial role in planning, designing, constructing, and managing quality infrastructure projects that contribute to the development and success of the communities we serve. This position requires a proactive individual who is willing to conduct field visits, assess site conditions, and develop architectural solutions under the guidance of an Architect or senior managers. In this role, you will be responsible for performing site visits and issuing reports, developing basic design solutions, and assisting in the development, modification, and review of design drawings and construction documents. You will also assist in the preparation of architectural documentation for construction bidding and undertake other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of architectural principles and practices, as well as a basic knowledge of zoning and building codes, including ADA requirements. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will be required to convey design options to a diverse group of stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Conduct field visits and assess site conditions.
  • Develop architectural solutions based on site assessments.
  • Perform site visits and issue reports.
  • Assist in the development, modification, and review of design drawings and construction documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of architectural documentation for construction bidding.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or higher.
  • 1-5 years of architectural experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Revit is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate design options to a diverse group.
  • Basic understanding of zoning and building codes, including ADA requirements.
