About the position

As an Architectural Designer at our Atlanta-based firm, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that integrates Architectural, Interior Design, and Land Planning studios. Our firm is recognized nationally for its expertise in senior living design and airport lounge development, emphasizing hospitality and community-based approaches. We pride ourselves on delivering award-winning projects that reflect meaningful design and a deep compassion for the communities we serve. In this full-time position, you will engage in a variety of tasks related to commercial projects, senior living, hospitality, multi-family, residential housing, and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well-organized, and possess a solid understanding of the technical aspects of architecture, along with a strong design inclination. You will work closely with in-house mentors to enhance your professional development, particularly in the Senior Living product type. Your role will involve coordinating project design, developing creative concepts, and independently managing architectural design projects. You will also provide training and feedback to junior designers while collaborating with senior management to understand project goals. Additionally, you will assist in project management tasks, including client account management, project scheduling, and budgeting. Proficiency in design and presentation software is essential for success in this multifaceted role.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in architectural design projects focusing on commercial, senior living, hospitality, multi-family, residential housing, and mixed-use developments.
  • Coordinate project design and develop creative concepts independently.
  • Provide training and feedback to junior designers.
  • Collaborate with senior management to understand project goals and assist in project management tasks.
  • Manage client accounts, project scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Utilize design skills for space planning, project drawings, renderings, and presentation graphics.
  • Participate in various capacities or projects simultaneously, each in different phases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in architectural design.
  • Architectural Degree from an accredited college.
  • Professional experience in an architectural design office with experience using 3D modeling as a design tool.
  • Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Knowledge and competency in software packages including Revit, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Google SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of three-dimensional forms and models.
  • Strong design and visualization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensure preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, senior living, mixed-use, and/or residential projects is a plus.
  • Hand sketching ability is a plus.
