About the position

The Architectural Designer position at ATEPC involves working collaboratively with a team to develop designs that comply with relevant codes and standards. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities from initial planning through to final construction, ensuring quality control and adherence to project goals within budget and schedule. This position offers the opportunity to engage in high-profile projects across the region.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with owners, contractors, and engineers from the initial planning stages through final construction.
• Determine design criteria using relevant codes and standards.
• Develop contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Produce schematic and detailed designs and evaluate planning and concept alternatives.
• Coordinate building department and other government agency application paperwork and filing.
• Review shop drawings and RFI's.
• Perform field inspections and write inspection reports.

Requirements

• Familiarity with the latest version of AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Entry Level: Bachelor's degree in Architecture and knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Intermediate Level: Master's degree in Architecture and 3+ years of related work experience in residential and commercial building.
• Advanced Level: Master's degree in Architecture and 8+ years of related work experience in residential and commercial building, with the capability to manage entire projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with NYC zoning, building, and energy codes.
• NYS RA License.
