About the position

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is seeking an Architectural Designer to join their Mobile, AL office. This full-time position involves supporting ongoing projects through all stages of design and construction. The designer will assist project managers in producing documents and managing projects, requiring strong organizational skills and effective communication to collaborate with outside consultants and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD
• Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Products/Bluebeam
• Experience with architectural, engineering or construction drawings
• Ability to think in a 3D environment
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel required
• Effectively meet and accommodate deadlines on multiple projects
• Document as-built conditions in existing structures
• Work in a team environment
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Requirements

• Associate degree in Drafting/Design/Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of technical and construction document production experience - retail experience preferred
• Basic understanding of building codes, construction methods, building systems, and engineering systems
• Working knowledge and practice skills of architectural product systems
• Working knowledge of A&E work standards, processes, and policies
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and prioritize assignments
• Understanding of the tasks associated with the preparation of construction documents
