About the position

As an Architectural Designer at Hornberger + Worstell, you will play a crucial role in the architectural design process, starting from the Schematic Design phase and advancing through Design Development and the creation of technical production documents. You will work closely with a senior design team to assemble and refine Revit models, ensuring that the architectural vision is accurately represented in a digital format. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes, which are integral to modern architectural practices. Your responsibilities will include translating architectural sketches and details into electronic CAD versions, which will then be converted into BIM/Revit formats. This process is vital for maintaining the integrity of the design as it evolves. You will also be tasked with developing Revit models and BIM protocols, coordinating with architectural engineering and other integrated models throughout various design phases. This collaborative approach will ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned and that the final output meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. In addition to modeling, you will conduct research on building products, materials, and systems that will be verified for selection and implementation into the design and technical documentation. This includes evaluating window systems, facade materials, structural supports, and waterproofing assemblies. Your ability to participate in workshops with design consultants and contractors will enhance your understanding of code requirements, cost considerations, and constructability, which are critical to the success of any architectural project. Finally, you will assist in architectural construction and field reviews, manage submittals, and ensure that all documentation is thorough and accurate. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic environment while contributing to innovative architectural solutions.
