About the position

The Architectural Designer & Planner at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is responsible for managing and overseeing the design and execution of capital construction, renovation, and planning projects. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, supporting strategic planning, and contributing to the development of long-range campus planning and the biennial capital budget. Excellent communication and coordination skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager for capital construction, renovation, and planning projects.
• Oversee design and execution of assigned projects.
• Support project implementation and strategic planning efforts.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Contribute to the development of long-range campus planning and strategic facility planning.
• Act as an Agency Representative and Project Manager on projects of all scales.
• Prepare cyclical documents for the biennial capital budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three years of related professional experience in architectural graphic conventions or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Urban Planning, Facilities Management or related field.
• Registration as a licensed Architect in Wisconsin.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or space management software.
• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and report generation.
• Experience in space management and/or facilities planning in higher education.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes or ADA regulations.
