About the position

The Architectural Designer position at Actalent involves collaborating with senior staff to develop designs that align with project budgets and requirements. The role requires working closely with project architects, managers, and engineers to gather necessary information for project documentation, preparing design presentations, and ensuring compliance with building codes and accessibility standards. The designer will also assist in budgeting and time management while taking ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior staff to understand the scope of work and develop designs appropriate to the budget.
• Collaborate with project architects, project managers, and engineers to gather information needed for project documentation.
• Prepare design presentations for clients using sketches and design/drafting programs.
• Implement basic building codes and accessibility requirements in design presentations.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and budgets.
• Develop organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Respond to questions and requests from senior staff and outside consultants in a timely manner.
• Attend project pre-bid meetings and installations with senior staff.
• Gain knowledge of company programs for design and record keeping, utilizing them daily.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and complete them professionally.
• Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Entry-level experience in architecture or architectural design.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of construction documents and design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in multifamily and hospitality design.
• Familiarity with additional design software and tools.
