About the position

Sentech Architectural Systems is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer to join their engineering and design department. This full-time position involves preparing detailed drawings and 3D models for specialty structural glass projects, ensuring compliance with project standards and specifications. The role requires collaboration with engineers, manufacturing teams, and clients, and offers opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed 2D approval drawing sets in AutoCAD for client review
  • Preparing 3D models using Creo for client approval and shop fabrication drawings
  • Reviewing structural specifications, engineering calculations, sketches, and design information to create drawings and models
  • Ensuring complete, accurate, and timely production of drawing packages and documentation related to design
  • Familiarizing with project standards, procedures, and work processes for the engineering and design department
  • Communicating and coordinating with management, engineers, manufacturing/shop teams, materials management, clients, and on-site installation crews
  • Learning the complexities involved in the structural glass industry and custom fabrication

Requirements

  • Background in Mechanical, Civil or Architectural design
  • Minimum of 4 years experience detailing using AutoCAD
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience creating shop fabrication drawings for structural parts and assemblies
  • Ability to create and use parametric models, relations and/or equations, and family tables for parts and assemblies
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership, organization, planning, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work exceptionally well in a team environment
  • Accuracy and impeccable attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience creating models of complex assemblies using Creo, Inventor, or Solidworks
  • 3D modeling skills and design of assemblies
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or an applicable discipline
  • Knowledge of Project Management tools and technologies
