As a small team, we value creativity, attention to detail, organization, and a collaborative spirit. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Architectural Designer to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a strong passion for architecture and design, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow within the field. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting residential projects, contributing to the design process while developing essential skills in architectural documentation. As an Architectural Designer, you will assist in the development of architectural designs, including both conceptual and detailed work, under the direct guidance of the Principal Architect. You will learn to assemble and prepare comprehensive sets of construction drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards. Additionally, you will help coordinate project details, manage documentation, and maintain clear communication with team members and clients. Staying updated with industry trends, building codes, and best practices is crucial, as is demonstrating a willingness to continuously learn and apply new skills. Proficiency in SketchUp software is essential, as you will utilize it to create and modify 3D models and visualizations. Your creativity and problem-solving skills will contribute to enhancing the design and functionality of residential projects, while your organizational skills will ensure meticulous management of project files, drawings, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of architectural designs, including conceptual and detailed work, under the direct guidance of the Principal Architect.
  • Learn to assemble and prepare comprehensive sets of construction drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
  • Help coordinate project details, manage documentation, and maintain clear communication with team members and clients.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, building codes, and best practices, showing a willingness to continuously learn and apply new skills.
  • Utilize SketchUp software to create and modify 3D models and visualizations, demonstrating above-average proficiency.
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions that enhance the design and functionality of residential projects.
  • Maintain meticulous organization of project files, drawings, and documentation to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • A degree in Architecture from an accredited university is required.
  • Above-average proficiency in SketchUp software is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a high level of detail over the length of a project.
  • Demonstrated creativity in design and problem-solving.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in California.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with other design tools and software is a plus.
  • An interest in music or art is a desirable secondary trait.
