About the position

Finishes Solutions is seeking a creative and driven individual to join our team as an Architectural Designer/Drafter in our Business Development Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our architectural designs meet client expectations while adhering to industry standards and regulations. As an Architectural Designer/Drafter, you will be responsible for collaborating with clients to understand their design requirements for new constructions, alterations, or repairs. You will consult with engineers, architects, and other designers to grasp the design concept fully, ensuring that all necessary measurements, dimensions, and calculations are accurately gathered for your design layouts. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and revising blueprints, drawings, and other drafting documents. You will need to identify and resolve potential design problems or inconsistencies, ensuring that all drawings and specifications meet the required standards and codes. Documenting and archiving completed design files is essential, as is presenting and explaining design drafts to engineers or architects. You will provide clients with suitable design recommendations based on various factors, including budget constraints, the building site, and recent design trends. Utilizing CAD software and manual drawing techniques, you will produce architectural designs for management and client approval. Modifications to designs based on feedback from management and clients will be a regular part of your workflow. Field visits to measure, document, or verify installed systems against design specifications will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with other architects and designers to exchange ideas and provide support is crucial, as is ensuring that all vital information and documentation is recorded and maintained. To stay current with the latest design trends, you will conduct research and attend workshops and conferences, assisting in design solutions and creating 3D renderings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Reworking and modifying designs based on comments and reviews from management and clients.
  • Performing field visits to measure, document, or verify installed systems against design specifications.
  • Interacting with other Architects and Designers to exchange ideas and provide support.
  • Ensuring all vital information and documentation is recorded and maintained.
  • Conducting research and attending workshops and conferences to remain up to date with the latest design trends.
  • Assisting in design solutions and 3D renderings.

Requirements

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in architecture, drafting or similar field.
  • 5 Years' Experience.
  • A portfolio of completed designs.
  • Excellent technical skills, particularly with CAD software.
  • 3D Modeling in SketchUp & Luminaire.
  • Strong creative design and time management skills.
  • Good customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to visually communicate concepts.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
