About the position

The Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator at Binghamton University is a professional role focused on the design and construction administration of campus projects. The coordinator will engage with campus customers to assess facility needs and will be responsible for preparing design concepts, construction documents, and overseeing construction progress.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and construction administration for campus projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project coordinators to deliver optimal designs within budget.
  • Prepare design concepts and construction cost estimates.
  • Complete design with final construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of construction progress and attend job meetings.
  • Respond to requests for information from the construction team.
  • Work closely with campus customers to identify facility needs and ensure project alignment with those needs.
  • Anticipate potential problems and maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Design/Project Coordination in architectural, electrical, mechanical or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with construction groups such as plumbers and electricians.
  • Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Design/Project Coordination, including architectural, electrical, mechanical or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with construction groups such as plumbers and electricians.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Holding a professional license/registration or certifications.
