About the position

The Architectural Designer at Nolan Carter Architectural Design, LLC plays a crucial role in managing and progressing all projects through the Construction Documentation phase. This position focuses on ensuring high-quality design and timely documentation while collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to meet design standards and client expectations. The role is integral to enhancing the quality of life through functional and aesthetically pleasing architectural solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Revit to produce detailed construction drawings for commercial building projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • Manage the design and documentation of all projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
  • Ensure design specifications align with safety standards, government regulations, and client needs.
  • Collaborate directly with clients during design and documentation phases, addressing their needs and incorporating feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure accuracy and quality of early design work.
  • Research materials and assemblies for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Conduct research, attend workshops, and participate in conferences to stay updated with the latest design trends and technology.
  • Establish Department standards, including Revit standards and templates, and ensure compliance within the department.
  • Update construction documents during the construction phase as directed by the Lead, Architectural Designer, Project Manager, and Architect.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in BIM applications, specifically Revit and BIM360.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with overlapping deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years of commercial drafting experience.
  • Proficiency in creating high-level interior and exterior renderings.
  • Experience in writing technical specifications.
