About the position

The Architectural Designer will work closely with clients to understand their requirements and create detailed architectural designs. This role involves drafting plans, ensuring compliance with local building codes, and collaborating with construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to determine requirements for architectural designs.
• Create freehand drawings and lettering to accompany architectural drawings based on client specifications.
• Analyze local city and county residential building codes, zoning codes, and site requirements to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Draft plans and drawings, presenting project proposals to clients, including colored 3D drawings of exterior and interior designs using CAD and drafting machines.
• Prepare drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with other construction supervisors and workers during the construction process.
• Travel to clients' locations to collaborate with construction teams within the Hampton Roads and DMV area 2-3 times a week.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• 1 year of experience in architectural design.
• Experience with Revit software.
