About the position

As an Architectural Designer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in collaborating on various phases of project design. This includes programming client needs, conceptual design, and some construction administration, along with onsite experience. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including but not limited to industrial, multi-family, mixed-use, urban planning, commercial, corporate office, lab/medical, historic preservation, renovations, and retail projects. This variety will provide you with a rich experience across different project typologies. In this position, you will work directly with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to ensure that overall project objectives are met. You will be responsible for resolving technical and design issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Effective communication is key, as you will assist in team and client communication, reporting directly to your supervisor. You will also provide project team coordination for programming plans and test fits, conceptual designs, and preliminary material selections. Additionally, you will create building massing and 3D modeling for projects, along with graphic presentation work for project presentations. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on various phases of project design from programming client needs to conceptual design and construction administration.

  • Engage directly with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years' experience designing projects of varying scale, with workplace experience being a plus but not required.
  • Professional degree in a related field.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to problem-solve both individually and as part of a project team.
  • Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, such as Sketchup and AutoCAD; Revit is a plus.
  • Strong sense of graphic/presentation skills, proficient in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work quickly on projects in a sometimes high-paced environment.
