About the position

The Architectural Designer will be responsible for managing the design process of various projects from initial site measurements to the creation of construction documents. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and clients to develop design concepts, ensuring compliance with zoning regulations, and facilitating communication between all stakeholders involved in the project.

Responsibilities

• Perform as-built site field measure for new projects.
• Research site conditions and zoning regulations to determine design direction and possibilities.
• Sketch potential design concepts to assist with visualization.
• Work with internal staff to direct and develop each design as a team.
• Manage the project design schedule from initial field measure through construction documentation.
• Serve as the primary liaison communicating design concepts to clients and internal staff.
• Conduct meetings with the team to review and revise design based on client needs and communication.
• Source specific product finish selections and specifications.
• Develop design and construction details for communication to clients and production staff.
• Meet with structural engineer to determine specific structural requirements for projects.
• Create construction documents to obtain building permits.
• Create submittal package for HOA, historic review and/or zoning variances and attend necessary commission meetings.
• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to finalize design and product details.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture or related field (preferred).
• 2 years of drafting experience (preferred).
• 2 years of design experience (preferred).
• Ability to commute to Columbus, OH 43229 (required).
