About the position

The Architectural Designer will play a vital role within the design team, contributing to project concepts and documentation from the initial stages of master planning through all phases of development. This position requires a blend of creativity and technical skills, as the designer will be involved in various aspects of architectural design, particularly focusing on hospitality and residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to envision and implement design concepts that enhance user experiences, ensuring that each project aligns with the client's vision and functional requirements. In this role, the Architectural Designer will lead select projects, collaborating closely with a Senior Architect and/or the Director of Architecture. The designer will also serve as a representative for Chambers, engaging with clients, suppliers, vendors, and colleagues within the industry. Maintaining a strong presence in professional organizations such as the AIA, USGBC, and CSI is essential, as is the ability to occasionally interact with high-end private club clientele and other key stakeholders. The position demands strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. The Architectural Designer will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in various software tools, including AutoCAD, REVIT, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). A working knowledge of building codes and contract administration capabilities is also necessary. The candidate should have aspirations toward LEED accreditation, which will further enhance their qualifications for this role. Responsibilities

  • Leading select projects, working in conjunction with a Senior Architect and/or Director of Architecture
  • Serving as a Chambers representative for clients as well as suppliers, vendors, and colleagues within the industry
  • Maintaining a strong presence in professional organizations (AIA, USGBC, CSI, etc)
  • Occasionally engaging with our high-end private club clientele and other key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Architecture
  • Proven experience with hospitality or residential projects
  • Ability to envision and enact design concepts that enhance experiences
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, or other BIM software
  • Adeptness in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • NCARB certification preferred with active record in good standing
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated sketching ability preferred
  • Experience working with expanded project teams, including engineering consultants, general contractors, and vendors
  • Working knowledge of building codes
  • Contract Administration capabilities
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Organization and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Aspiration toward LEED accreditation is also a plus
