About the position

As an Architectural Designer at Seymour Lumber, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients with design concepts for their residential and commercial projects. Your expertise in architectural design will help guide clients through the planning and material selection process, ensuring their projects are not only beautiful but also functional and compliant with local building codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative architectural designs for residential and commercial projects.
• Create detailed drawings and specifications using Revit software.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert design guidance.
• Assist clients in selecting appropriate materials.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes.
• Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and gather necessary data.
• Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating ideas.
• Address design challenges and adapt plans based on client feedback.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to enhance design processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Technical College degree (or close to graduation) in Residential Design, Architecture or related field.
• Proficiency in Revit design software.
• Strong understanding of building codes and construction methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• A passion for design and a desire to help clients achieve their project goals.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a lumber yard or construction-related field is a plus but not required.
