About the position

The Architectural Drafter/Designer will work closely with lead architectural designers to create detailed and accurate architectural drawings from rough sketches and estimations. This role involves ensuring compliance with building codes and preparing presentations for clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong drafting skills and be proficient in CAD software, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create and modify architectural documents and designs.
• Analyze building codes and requirements to ensure compliance in architectural drawings.
• Integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical designs into coherent building designs.
• Draw detailed and rough scale plans for structures based on preliminary concepts and specifications.
• Design interior room arrangements for commercial buildings using CAD software.
• Gather necessary information and measurements from job sites to complete architectural drawings.
• Oversee and inspect the work of draftspersons and team members on construction projects.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Google Sketchup.
• Strong drafting skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze and apply California Building Codes.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in both commercial and residential drafting.
• Ability to draw by hand.
